Last night I went over to the Gateway store and saw their MCE PC connected to their new (affordable!) 42" Plasma TV and it was goregous. The windows desktop was very legible and quite usable. I was very impressed! Needless to say, I will be getting a Gateway Plasma in the next month or so.

I have a capable MCE PC and a Linksys Media Extender which I have found to be great. Having the MCE PC in the office for someone to use for regular tasks (editing photos, ripping CDs, working etc), while letting other users in the living room and/or bedroom access Forcing the PC into the living room is not the way to go, and significantly detracts from the overall utility of the MCE idea.

Hello everyone, I looking to do something with MCE and began doing research on building a MCE PC vs. purchasing one. You still need audio/video cables between the sat box and the MCE PC. For the moment, the current concept of MCE works for me, but I don't believe I'ma truly representative the huge market out there for pure-MCE systems, which in my opinion, may be larger than the market for MCE-PC.
